It's impossible to homeschool because I have a full-time job!
I can't homeschool my kids because they live with their other parent every other week.
Don't get me wrong, it will not be easy, but it's totally possible. Actually, none of this is easy! Like any form of schooling, challenges will happen. But when you have the right resources, it does get easier!
Here are some ideas for making homeschool work in any situation:
Use an online program that automatically tracks your child's progress and updates the daily or weekly courses to keep your student on track.
Sign up for a local homeschool co-op or create your own group. Multiple families sharing daytime child supervision eases the burden on individual families. Some co-ops even offer live classes for their members.
Make learning a passion. Instead of focusing on rigid routines, add in some hidden learning. A trip to the grocery store can turn into a math and budgeting lesson. A trip to the zoo can make science fun. Story time at the library teaches words, sounds, and a love of reading. You can absolutely tailor your homeschool lessons to your child's interests and hobbies.
The beauty of homeschool is that you can make it as structured or flexible as your family needs, and if something isn't working, you can regroup and try something else, as often as you want.
We'd love to support you on your homeschool journey. We offer online and in person consulting sessions on how to create your own personalized learning plan.
